Fr. Janusz and Fr. Joseph sincerely thank the new Fundraising Committee for their tremendous efforts and everyone who patronized the Multicultural Festival on Saturday, 26 October 2019. It was overwhelming to see the Parish Hall filled with over 400 people (Thank you).

A great thank you to everyone who generously donated their time to cook the delicious International dishes enjoyed by so many on the night and for all the performers who gave us a wonderful night of entertainment.

Last but not the least, an immense appreciation to all our local business sponsors & parishioners that participated and donated generously…Without you this event wouldn’t be such a monumental success. God Bless You.

Our Multicultural Festival on 26 October 2019 raised an outstanding amount of $13,692.30 for the Parish!

Special mention of appreciation to our parishioners, who raised a substantial amount by their performances, selling a large number of raffle tickets before and on the night of the festival.

Fr. Janusz will ensure that the profits will go towards the Parish to cover current expenses and future projects.

Thanks to everyone who helped to make the Multicultural Festival such an outstanding success!

What a success our first Multicultural Festival was last Saturday! It was a wonderful evening of international dining and cultural performances, interspersed by exciting raffle and lucky door draws and coin-toss competitions.

Any doubts the new Fundraising Committee might have had about whether Parishioners would support our first event were quickly dispelled. More than 400 guests filled the Parish Hall to overflowing after Vigil Mass. From the moment Very Rev Peter Williams said Grace, there were smiles everywhere as people enjoyed the delicious cuisines and entertaining performances.

A major function like this takes a lot of time and effort to organise. The Fundraising Committee –Aldwin Lassiter, Anoma Athukorala, Baldwin & Gwen D’Silva, Freddy Sahyoun, Karen & Savio Monteiro, Katrina Diab, Michelle Portelli, Nada Tomas,Peter Carroll,Priscilla Newman and Theressa Tan –combined brilliantly.

Thanks to the many Parishioners who brought and served food, donated prizes, sold drinks, ice creams and raffle tickets, helped clean up after-wards and in other ways.

Thanks also to our effervescent MC Mary Ann Graham, the talented performers, St Margaret Mary’s School Principal Kevin Mills and staff, and Fr Janusz and Fr Joseph Maria (who bravely hung the many national flags from atop a step-ladder!)

Finally thanks to our local business sponsors: Michelle Portelli Cakes, Essey Bros Party Hire, The Spectacle Spot, Cincotta Chemist, Zag Sea-food, Trim’s Fresh, Petina Bakery, Food Choice Buffet (Club Merrylands), Cafe By The Green (Club Merrylands), Coolibah Hotel, Merrylands Gift Shop, Abla’s Fresh Nuts & Coffee, Nawa Thai Restaurant, PhotoArt Design and Merrylands One Hour Photo Services. The proceeds, which will go to St Margaret Mary’s Parish, will be announced shortly.

See you at next year’s Multicultural Festival!

God Bless
Mike Jacobson
